Public Engagement Training
Public engagement is most effective when people have the opportunity to build their skills, learn from others, and reflect on their practice.
We works with universities, research organisations and sector partners across the UK to support the development of high-quality public engagement. Through training, facilitation and capacity-building, we help organisations create the conditions in which meaningful engagement can flourish.
Whether you're looking to support researchers who are new to engagement, develop more advanced practice, or strengthen engagement across your institution, we'd be happy to explore how we can help.
Training for Organisations
Supporting your people and your priorities
Most of our training is commissioned by institutions and delivered for groups of researchers, professional services staff, public engagement professionals and research leaders.
We have a suite of workshops provide practical opportunities to explore key concepts, share experiences, learn from evidence and develop approaches that can be applied in participants' own contexts. Training can be delivered online or in person and adapted to reflect your organisation's priorities and areas of interest. Browse out introductory level courses below.
Looking for something different?
Alongside our established workshops, we regularly work with organisations to develop tailored training and development programmes. This might include support linked to institutional strategies, research programmes, civic and community engagement priorities, or specialist areas of practice. We have developed a range of formats of course, from short online sessions, to in-person days and asynchronous courses for online learning platforms.
We are always happy to discuss how our training can be adapted to meet your particular needs.

- Design tailored workshops and programmes.
- Support teams, networks and communities of practice.
- Develop engagement capability across different roles and career stages.
- Embed high-quality public engagement within wider organisational change initiatives.
- Provide advice and support to PE teams developing their own training.
Our aim is not simply to deliver training, but to help build lasting confidence, capability and culture.
