Why we've signed the Manifesto
“The University of Bath is pleased to be a signatory to the Manifesto for Public Engagement. We fully support the aims and are committed to sharing our knowledge, resources and skills. We are already very active in this area, including our annual Bath Taps into Science Festival, Images of Research photographic competition, and the Bath Science Café. We look forward to working with the National Co-ordinating Centre to further enhance this work and involve more people across the University.”
Professor Matthew Davidson, Whorrod Professor of Sustainable Chemical Technologies, Associate Dean for Research in the Faculty of Science.
Our approach to public engagement
The University of Bath is committed to excellence and impact in our research and teaching. Public engagement is an important part of that. Our vision is: To facilitate highly visible public engagement, embedded across the whole research lifecycle that encompasses all University staff and students in building mutually beneficial links between our research and the public. We aim to build and sustain institutional capacity for public engagement through training, support and encouragement for staff and students.
