Job: Development Co-ordinator for Public Engagement with Research

Deadline extended - An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join the University of Aberdeen Public Engagement with Research Unit (PERU). Forming part of the Directorate of External Relations, the PERU delivers the university’s academic-led public engagement strategy, maximising mutual benefits for internal academic and external communities.

The University of Aberdeen is one of eight UK centres of excellence for public engagement (PE) supported by the RCUK Catalyst initiative and this development post builds on the legacy of this award, consolidating our objective to be an engaged university of world class.

The development position will further elevate the institution’s profile and track record by ensuring that the role of embedded PE is fully exploited across the evolving landscapes of research, knowledge exchange, teaching and staff/student experience. The successful candidate will be expected to support the Head of Public Engagement and liaise closely with colleagues across administrative and academic sections of the university to drive forward our ambitious vision for PE. The role will also involve extensive external partnership working to ensure that networks and groupings strengthen core activity, particularly across the shaping of research proposals and knowledge exchange activity.
