If you love telling stories, have a knack for creating creative video content, an enthusiasm for experimenting and want to understand what goes on inside a research-intensive university and communicate that, then we want to hear from you.

We are seeking someone with solid editing and graphic design experience, demonstrated through a portfolio of previous work, to bring sight and sound together to tell cohesive stories, tailored for digital channels. 

You’ll be part of the Public Engagement with Research (PE) Team at the University of Leeds, who supports and facilitates engagement with all of our research, to family and adult audiences. Our task is to build awareness of who researchers are, what they do and why it matters, through sharing high quality content that tells the stories of the cutting-edge research taking place at the University of Leeds in a way that is relatable and accessible.

You will play a key role in developing the look and feel of our Be Curious brand as part of our evolving strategy to make research relevant in people’s lives. This is a broad and exciting role that requires a passion for storytelling and a deep understanding of social content that resonates and inspires engagement and offers an opportunity for sharing your skills to support our researchers to translate their research into digitally relevant, shareable content.

You will help implement and facilitate the delivery of our vision and strategic plan for engaged research. The Digital Engagement Officer will be reporting to the head of the PE team and will be part of the wider Research and Innovation Service team working closely with staff across the whole institution.
