Social Innovation Networking Event

Date and Time:
Thursday, January 26, 2017 - 1:30pm to 4:00pm

Are you working to address and improve social outcomes for people through collaboration or co-creation?  Such work is often termed ‘social innovation’ – and draws on a rich mix of methods and approaches to create powerful social impact.

There is increasing interest in how universities can embrace this way of working, and last year HEFCE funded 6 pilot projects to explore the territory.  The pilots addressed topics ranging from young men’s mental health; promoting tolerance amongst diverse groups of young people; to examining how university and community can work together to address food poverty in six localities through an alternative local food system.

This event provides an opportunity to meet some of these pilot projects, and to explore the ‘state of the art in social innovation’.

Join us at Conference Aston on January 26th from 1.30 – 4.00 for an informal networking event, where you will meet others working in this space; explore the funding landscape for social innovation; and share experiences of how to plan, evaluate and deliver excellent projects.

There is no charge to attend this event. To book a place please contact

A small number of bursaries are available to support non-HE partners to attend.  Please contact for further details.
