Save the Date - Engaged Leaders Forum; Creating Value in Challenging Times
Save the date: Thursday 18 March 2027 10am-4pm, Birmingham
As resources tighten, engagement leaders face increasingly difficult choices. At a time when public trust in institutions is under pressure and expectations of universities continue to grow, leaders must decide where engagement can make the greatest difference.
The Engaged Leaders Forum brings together senior leaders from across higher education to explore how we lead engagement strategically in an era of constraint. Together we'll examine what to prioritise, what to stop, how to demonstrate value, and how engagement can help build trust, strengthen relationships, and enable universities to respond to complex societal challenges.
Universities and their partners across the public, community and voluntary sectors are all facing increasing pressures on resources, capacity and investment. Yet the need for meaningful engagement has not diminished. If anything, it has become more important as institutions seek to understand societal needs, work in partnership with others, respond to complex challenges, strengthen trust, and demonstrate the value they create. The Forum will provide an opportunity to step back from day-to-day pressures and explore how engagement can be led strategically in this environment. Through keynote contributions, panel discussions, and facilitated conversations, participants will have the opportunity to learn from peers, share experiences, and consider practical approaches to leading change.
Discussion themes will include:
• Strategic decision-making when resources are constrained
• Sustaining relationships and partnerships when capacity is stretched
• Demonstrating societal value and making the case for engagement
• Building and maintaining public trust
Designed for senior leaders responsible for public engagement, civic and community engagement, knowledge exchange, research culture and institutional strategy, the Forum will bring together colleagues facing similar challenges and opportunities from across higher education. The Forum will be a day of frank discussion, practical insight and peer learning for those responsible for shaping the future of engagement.
Tickets will be priced at £250 for the day, with a small number of reduced £100 places available to support attendance.
Further details and booking information will be available soon.
