Why we've signed the Manifesto
Making sure we communicate and share our research is an essential part of Anglia Ruskin University’s strategy. One of our primary aims is to enhance social, cultural and economic well-being at a local, national and international level. We recognise research to be a public good, and believe that to obtain the greatest benefits from it, it must be shared as widely and as openly as possible.
The past year has been our strongest ever in terms of our research portfolio with growth in grant revenue, publications and impact. Much of the research portfolio is focussed on areas that make a real contribution to our region. We will continue to define our success by the positive impact we have on the lives of our students and the communities we serve.
Our approach to public engagement
Anglia Ruskin University has a long-standing commitment, in its Vision and Research & Scholarship Strategy, to making a key contribution to the enhancement of social, cultural and economic well-being. As part of this undertaking, we are committed to public engagement and the dissemination of our research. Our academic and research staff are encouraged to share their findings and successes, and to contribute to public debate.
In the past few years we have established Research Institutes, for which an essential priority is engagement, both with academic colleagues and the wider community. Our Research Impact Strategy includes a pledge to implement the ‘Concordat for Engaging the Public with Research’. Signing up to the NCCPE Manifesto is an affirmation of our intentions, and a public statement of our total support for Public Engagement.
