How can we better support public engagement with environmental science? How can we make environmental research more relevant to society? How can we encourage and support communities, publics, and researchers to get involved?

Come and help us tackle these questions at the Engaging Environments Symposium, where six NERC-funded projects will be sharing their learning, and exploring how to take this work forward in the future. These projects have been testing new approaches for working with communities; exploring the value of using creative engagement techniques; and equipping the environmental research community sector to deliver effective public engagement with contemporary issues of environmental science. This event will offer the opportunity to interrogate and build on the learning to date, and consider how the projects could be scaled up to have national impact, and identify who else needs to be involved.

We are delighted to be running this event in collaboration with the Bristol Natural History Consortium's Communicate conference, taking place in Bristol over the following two days - Tuesday 23rd of October and Wednesday 24th of October.
