Join us at Engage Live 2024

We're thrilled to open bookings to our much-anticipated conference, Engage Live 2024!

We’re really looking forward to inviting you to Bristol on Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd May.

Early bird tickets are available now until the 29 February, so book your place today! Engage is always lively, informative and provocative. It’s an opportunity for those with a stake in public and community engagement to come together, explore new ideas, share new practice, and co-create new ways to approach ongoing challenges.

This year, the conference is going to be a celebration of excellent engagement practice in all its forms - led by researchers, engagement professionals, communities, charities and organisations acting as agents for societal change.

The Programme

We have an amazing array of sessions that address our themes:

  • Practice that is anchored in the ‘real world’

How can engagement practice be grounded in the messiness and complexities of life? Find out how Aston University ran a collaborative project with the NHS to address health disparities with local communities, or join the University of Bath to explore how those doing relational work can look after themselves

  • Practice that is inclusive and accessible

o What are we doing in our practice to actively challenge the systems and barriers that reinforce inequality? Explore the balance of power with the University of Warwick, or see how People’s Voice Media honours lived experiences through community reporting and digital storytelling.

  • Practice that elicits change

How can we design engagement work so that it creates actions, outcomes, and change? Hear how Srinakharinwirot University uses social engagement models to improve health and wellbeing in their communities, or how the University of Dundee uses strategic conversations to elicits change.

  • Practice that brings others along on the journey

How can we use our practice to influence others? Hear a story from the Martha Farrell Foundation about the power of collectivism, or find out how the University of Portsmouth built support for public engagement from the ground up.

With plenaries, working sessions, story sessions and our famous Poster Party, this is just a taste of the great content on offer!
