The objective of the project was to provide independent insight and evidence to support future UK planning and strategy for supporting researchers to engage with the public. The research was funded by a Consortium of 15 funders of UK public research. The Wellcome Trust managed the research on behalf of the Consortium, supported by a Steering Group drawn from the Consortium.
