HACK the UNIVERSITY! A Grassroots Improvement Initiative

Universities are very vocal in promoting their strategic ambition, usually built on pillars such as creativity, people, pursuit of knowledge and civic mission. However what if we ask staff and students to identify the day to day issues that impede operational actions that underpin strategic success, and the fund them to test new ideas?  

This is what the University of Glasgow's "HACK the ARC" initiative did, applied to the University's Advanced Research Centre (ARC). In this talk we'll describe the experience, learnings and next steps to creating a wider HACK the UNIVERSITY idea.
