Gemma Adams

Head of Projects and Innovation

Gemma is the NCCPE’s Head of Projects and Innovation, overseeing the organisation’s portfolio of strategic programmes and driving new approaches to engagement, learning and impact. Gemma has a particular interest in civic engagement, evaluation, and how universities can work more effectively with their communities.


Previously, Gemma led the National Civic Impact Accelerator, managing an England wide action learning programme supporting universities to strengthen their civic practice. Before joining the NCCPE, she worked at Future Quest, the Bristol and South Gloucestershire Uni Connect Programme, helping learners from underrepresented groups make informed choices about their pathways into and through higher education. Earlier in her career, Gemma taught as a secondary art teacher.


Outside of work, Gemma enjoys being creative, spending time in nature, attending festivals, and singing in a choir.
