Birmingham Framework for Ethical Public Engagement with Research: Have your say!
The Birmingham Framework for Ethical Public Engagement, developed by staff at University of Birmingham, provides a set of guiding principles and a reflexive tool and checklist for anyone thinking about, planning or undertaking public engagement activities, to ensure these activities are just, equitable and non-exploitative.
In this encounter, Will Mason-Wilkes and colleagues involved with the development of the framework will provide an introduction to the framework principles and their application. NCCPE Engage attendees are invited to discuss the framework with the developers and reflect on and provide any feedback or insight on how it might influence their own engagement practice and how it can be developed further to support engagement more broadly.
