The Institute of Infection, Immunity and Inflammation is seeking an experienced public engagement professional to lead on the planning and management of a creative programme of internal and external engagement initiatives and events, and support the development and implementation of our Public Engagement and Communications strategy. The postholder will be based within the MRC University of Glasgow Centre for Virus Research (CVR).

The post-holder will also co-ordinate training and development for CVR staff and students to build capacity in engagement and communication and foster an internal culture where public engagement with research is supported and valued.

You will be an enthusiastic, motivated and confident communicator with outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills and a people-focused approach. You'll have experience of using a range of communication channels and be able to support researchers to develop their own engagement activities and engage with diverse audiences. The ability to develop, manage and evaluate initiatives from inception to completion is essential to the role, as is the management of strategic activities and experience of supporting the embedding of public engagement with research at an institutional level.

This post is part time (up to 0.8FTE) and is available until 31 March 2022 in the first instance, subject to renewal of funding on a five year cycle.
