Qualitative work investigating the design of a formal and sustained engagement program between early-career researchers and people with lived experience in Digital Health, exploring both the potential barriers and opportunities
University of Bristol
Direct individual engagement between people with lived experience and researchers working with their data in Digital Health is a vital and largely unmet need. There is little work on how to design engagement, what barriers are experienced, how best to overcome them, and what opportunities such engagement could bring to the researchers' working lives and their research outputs.
We use qualitative methodology and outline our learnings on this topic from within a large, multi-site engineering programme developing digital outcome measures in Parkinson's disease.
