Join us for an NCCPE seminar exploring how social accountability and public value models are shaping the future of higher education. We’ll hear from St Mary’s University, which is pioneering a socially accountability approach to establishing its new medical school, and from a Cardiff Business School at Cardiff University who are embedding public value principles into teaching, research, and partnerships.

This online session will cover:

  • Engagement strategies for working with local communities and stakeholders.
  • Lessons learned and practical insights for institutions considering similar approaches.

Speakers

Sonia Kumar

Professor Kumar is the Founding Executive Dean of Medicine at St Mary’s in London, leading their new School of Medicine, which will welcome its first cohort in September 2026. Prof Kumar has over two decades experience as a GP and educationalist, specialising in community-based health and education for the benefit of society, which will be core to the new School.
