Overview of the event and session formats

The Engage Summit is a 2-day event taking place in Central Birmingham on Wednesday 29th and Thursday 30th April 2026.

  • Conference sessions will take place in plenary and in small discussion groups. There will also be opportunities for one-to-one networking.
  • Delegates will always have the option to take some time for reflection instead of joining group discussions.
  • There will be regular breaks throughout each day.
  • You are welcome to bring a personal assistant or service animal.

The event venue

The Engage Summit 2026 will take place at The Eastside Rooms. Here is an overview of the venue, and a full accessibility guide can be downloaded using the link below.

  • All areas of the venue are wheelchair accessible, with dedicated lifts wide enough for wheelchair users and carers.
  • Seating is not fixed - it is flexible to create space where needed.
  • Induction loop facilities are available at all reception desks, the plenary space, and workshop spaces.
  • Glass doors have contrast markings.
  • There are accessible toilets on every floor of the building.
  • There is a Changing Places toilet.
  • All staff have undertaken full disability awareness training
  • The hotel next door, Aloft Birmingham Eastside, has 10 accessible bedrooms, with one having a full hoist from bed to bathroom
  • There is a drop-off point with a dropped kerb approximately 80m from the building entrance.
  • The catering provided will be able to meet a range of dietary requirements.
  • A multi-fairth room will be available for use throughout the event.
  • An additional quiet room will be available for use throughout the event.

Information for speakers and contributors

  • All stage and speaker areas have level access
  • Microphones and lecterns will be height-adjustable
  • NCCPE Team members will be allocated to each programme space for support throughout the sessions

Additional support available

When you register for the Engage Summit 2026, you will be invited to share any specific requirements that will enable you to fully participate in the event. We will work with you to ensure the right support is in place for you to attend. This could include:

  • Reserved seating in the plenary space
  • Conference materials in alternative formats, e.g. larger font; high colour contrast
  • BSL interpreting
  • Live captioning
