Meaningful engagement of stakeholders in research: Where to start

University of Roehampton

How can research meaningfully engage a variety of stakeholders, not only those with the loudest voices?  How do we know if our research will create opportunities for positive change in practice and shape policy that is impactful for marginalized communities?

In this session, I share my experiences of engaging the voices of stakeholders to inform research to meaningfully inform practice in schools for justice-involved youth and youth in alternative provision. Highlighting missteps and successes in engaging with practitioners across the education and youth justice sectors, I will discuss the evolution of a stakeholder advisory group  and share strategies to takeaway.
