
Marie-Annick Gournet (she/her)
Dr. Marie-Annick Gournet is an Associate Professor of Lifelong Learning and Inclusive Pedagogy at the University of Bristol, where she leads initiatives that enhance accessibility, inclusivity, and diversity in education. With over two decades of experience in senior leadership across higher education and the non-profit sector, Dr. Gournet has made significant contributions to advancing equitable educational practices. Since joining the University of Bristol as Director of Part-Time Programmes in 2019, she has been instrumental in shaping programmes that support diverse learning pathways.
In February 2024, she assumed the role of Programme Lead for the University of Bristol's Reparative Futures Programme, focusing on institutional reparatory justice and community engagement.
Previously, Dr. Gournet held various leadership roles at UWE, Bristol, where her work emphasized inclusive curriculum development and equitable opportunities for students and staff. She also founded MAG Consulting in 2017, providing consultancy, research, and coaching services with an emphasis on diversity and inclusion. Additionally, she established the Global Majority Teachers Network in 2019, creating a vital community of practice for global majority educators that addresses key issues in representation, retention, and progression. Dr. Gournet's extensive experience is complemented by her service in Non-Executive Director roles, where she has collaborated with various organisations to promote inclusive practices and lifelong learning.
