Empowering Voices, Building Community: Reflections on a University-Charity Research Partnership to Enhance Refugee Support and Feedback
University of Oxford
This contribution highlights a case example of successful collaboration between a university and community organisation for mutual benefit. As part of the University of Oxford's 2024-25 Science Together engagement programme, local charity Refugee Resource requested research support to develop a robust system of engagement and feedback with clients, enabling them to review and improve their service offering. Supported by professional engagement facilitators, researchers from the university co-designed and co-delivered a project with Refugee Resource, including training and supporting refugees and vulnerable migrants to gather and analyse feedback from their peers. We reflect on the benefits and challenges for involved partners.
