The University of Exeter has world class research and teaching across all 31 subject areas. Our researchers work in partnership with government, industry and communities, across the world and on our doorstep, to ensure our work is relevant, influential and beneficial. The Catalyst project will change the way that research is undertaken at the University of Exeter. Engaging and involving the public at all stages of research will be usual and be seen to improve the quality of our research.
The Catalyst team are working to create conditions for change by supporting researchers with their public engagement work, sharing experiences through workshops and internal communications and working with the management of the university to ensure that appropriate systems are in place to reward and recognise public engagement. We have several Champions for Public Engagement who advocate for Public Engagement and support their peers. Seed funds support innovation, documentation and reflection resulting in shareable case studies. Professional development opportunities are run for academics at all stages in their career.
