About the NCCPE

The NCCPE is hosted by the University of the West of England (UWE) Bristol and University of Bristol, and was set up in 2008 to help universities engage more effectively with the public.

We seek to catalyse innovation through building capacity and leadership in public engagement, and informing policy and investment to ensure engagement is embedded across the higher education sector. We aim to cultivate the conditions where mutually beneficial, equitable and meaningful engagement can deliver value to society and to research.

We are an entrepreneurial organisation, supported strategically by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), Wellcome and the UK Higher Education Funding Councils.
