Taking Stock 2022 survey: Student-Community Service Learning

The National Coordinating Centre for Public Engagement is undertaking a collaborative research project funded by the University of Westminster. We're interested in how universities engage with communities and organisations in their immediate settings through the vehicle(s) of learning and teaching.

We would like to invite you to complete the short survey below, to share examples of modules and courses which actively facilitate student learning in partnership with communities, audiences, and organisations external to the university. We’re specifically interested in work that is geared towards social change. Such changes might include: improving knowledge and understanding, changing attitudes and values, creativity and inspiration, and developing skills and building capacity.

You can find out more about the research and why it matters in our blog post, including some case studies of the types of practice we’re looking to capture.

The examples you provide will be used by NCCPE to develop the following:

  • A resource pack illustrating a range of conceptual and practical approaches and highlighting by theme a range of innovative models that others can learn from.
  • A policy report/briefing which sets the scene for how the UK Higher Education Sector can support and enable innovative student-community practices within the UK HE landscapes.

For further information on the project aims, outputs and intended impact, please download our Project Briefing

The deadline for completing the survey is Friday 9th December

Please note that, when you add a module or course to the survey below, a series of drop-down boxes will appear that invite you to share more detail about it. It is also more user-friendly if you use 'tab' to progress through the fields as opposed to 'return'.

Please see our Privacy Policy for more information about how we collect, store and process research data.
