Being Human Festival

Free public engagement training day

Location: University of Sheffield

The Being Human festival is committed to providing high quality opportunities for non-academic audiences to engage with the humanities. This year, we have teamed up with the Being Human Festival to offer some free training in how to engage the public with humanities research.

The training  will offer an opportunity to network and share ideas about Being Human programming, whilst also getting a masterclass in engaging the public.

Tea and coffee will be provided, but attendees will be asked to make their own lunch arrangements.

Event aims

  • To support the development of high quality public engagement events for Being Human2015
  • To stimulate ideas for public engagement with research that is mutually beneficial
  • The event will be facilitated by Sophie Duncan and Claire Wood from the National Coordinating Centre for Public Engagement. The day will be interactive, with a mix of short presentations, small group discussions and group exercises.
