Job: Public Engagement and Training Officer in Biomedical Sciences, University of Aberdeen

The University of Aberdeen recently secured a Wellcome Trust Institutional Strategic Support Fund, a prominent pillar of which was embedded public engagement with research. We are now recruiting for a post to take this exciting programme forward. The post is located in the University’s central Public Engagement with Research Unit (PERU) and will work closely with the College of Life Sciences and Medicine. The post holder will support academic staff and students that fall under the broad Wellcome remit, providing through-year training and support. The role will involve providing support and advice on grant writing to establish innovative new public engagement projects. The post holder will work alongside existing initiatives coordinated by the PERU including European Researchers’ Night Scotland, Aberdeen’s café science and Bright Club programmes, Pecha Kucha Nights and British Science Week. The role will also involve close liaison with other teams including our Research and Innovation and Researcher Development sections.
