Annual Conference 2015
University of Strathclyde, Glasgow
Making the Lifelong Learning University a Reality
The Universities Association for Lifelong Learning (UALL) conference will be of particular interest to policy makers, senior management, academic providers and administrators in lifelong learning both nationally and internationally as well as those working in any aspect of higher education or community learning.
There will be three strands to the conference:
- Universities and adult learning – what do we understand by the lifelong learning university and how might lifelong learning contribute to transformation and the development of innovative pedagogy?
- The University, adults and professional learning – what role can the lifelong learning university play in the development of professional learning? What knowledge and skills do mature adults need or want? What are the theoretical debates around professional learning and what examples are there of innovative practice?
- Universities and community learning – how can lifelong learning in universities widen access and promote social inclusion? What kind of partnerships should be developed to assist developments both within and outside the university? How can lifelong learning empower individuals and transform communities?
