We are recruiting an Engagement Officer to join the Institute of Physics in Ireland.
As Engagement Officer, you will be responsible for gathering, supporting and inspiring the physics community in Ireland, and helping them to share their passion for physics, both with each other and the wider public. You will work closely with the National Manager for Ireland and wider National Outreach and Engagement team by partnering with universities, other scientific and education stakeholders, and cultural partners to promote and celebrate all things physics in society today.
To do this, you will organise major events in the organisations calendar (for example the annual contributions to BT Young Scientist and the Northern Ireland Science Festival), attend meetings of the Ireland Committee and feedback information and progress updates to the wider team. In addition, you will be responsible for managing and assisting volunteers across Ireland in activities ranging from outreach at science festivals to careers events, and support our education team in the delivery of projects and activities.
