US: Community Heritage at the University of Sheffield
University of Sheffield
The Researching Community Heritage project at the University of Sheffield aims to develop lasting and fruitful collaborations between researchers in the University and communities researching their heritage. We hope to build new partnerships between researchers and community groups, encourage dialogue between researchers and community groups, and ensure that community groups interested in applying for the All Our Stories scheme funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund have the opportunity to meet and develop their ideas with researchers.
Our team have expertise in a wide range of subjects, from cultural history to population genetics, and experimental archaeology to dialect studies. Although at varying stages in their academic careers, they all have experience of public engagement and many have worked with communities who are not traditionally represented in heritage projects.
More information about the project is available at http://communityheritage.group.shef.ac.uk/. You can contact the project team by email: communityheritage@sheffield.ac.uk.
