The NCCPE is committed to an evidence-based approach and is placing emphasis on increasing and sharing evidence around the value and impacts of university public engagement. We believe such evidence can take many forms and are keen to hear, share and learn from a wide range of experiences. Please get in touch if you'd like to contribute to this work.
Our research programme will tackle three questions:
We are approaching these questions through three parallel work streams: Find out more about these areas by clicking on the links below.
We are running an action research programme involving key stakeholders from both inside and outside universities and research institutes. Each group will explore the question: Why should and how can British universities embed public engagement? The emergent learning will feed into the work of the NCCPE and more broadly. More
We are commissioning literature reviews which draw together existing knowledge on the importance of public engagement and its practical application in universities. We will also commission new research, as appropriate, to challenge, stimulate, and enhance understanding of the important role and impact of public engagement to UK universities. More
We are developing an extensive events programme to inform our work and share good practice and new ideas. The learning from these events will inform guides and other capacity building tools to support the practice of university public engagement. We hope that you find an event that suits you. If you have suggestions for other events please let us know. More
