NCCPE response to KEF call for evidence

HEFCE’s current call for evidence on Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF) metrics raises lots of interesting questions and challenges for university public engagement.  The call closes next week and the NCCPE published a draft response today.

Why are we responding?  Currently, many universities use knowledge exchange funding to support public engagement.  Public engagement also contributes significant value which could be captured by the KEF (or ignored by it).  An intelligent, sensitive KEF could be a useful intervention to incentivise good engagement practice.  A badly framed KEF could cause significant problems.

We would welcome your comments on our draft, and your help to develop it further.

The closing date for the consultation is 30th January, so we are working up to the wire on this.  Please send your comments by 10 a.m. on Monday 28th January to
