Job Vacancy: Senior Policy Manager: Research Councils UK Public Engagement with Research Team

Based at EPSRC, Swindon

Starting salary from £33,780 per annum + great benefits

With your commitment, drive and desire to raise public awareness and engagement in research and innovation, you will relish the opportunity to join the Research Councils' Public Engagement with Research team.

Our mission is to respond to emerging research opportunities, public aspirations and concerns. We maximise efficient delivery and ensure effective evaluation. We also act as a gateway for anyone seeking information, as well as running joint public engagement programmes across the Research Councils.

We work closely with other areas of Research Council business, ranging from knowledge transfer and economic impact to research programmes.

We have a vital role to play in the success of the UK's Research Councils and so will you.

You will be responsible for delivering, coordinating and facilitating the development of a portfolio of team projects and providing support in the strategic development and delivery of future activities. You will provide substantial innovative input in terms of generating ideas and you will work successfully with colleagues, external agencies, researchers and others in raising the profile and impact of the Research Councils.

With an understanding of issues relating to public engagement, research and education and good track record of project management, you will have a proven ability to network, negotiate and influence, coupled the ability to handle contentious issues with sensitivity and tact.
