Call for Evidence for National Report

Date:
03 May 2012

AccessHE have initiated a call for evidence on collaboration between higher education institutions (HEIs) and Third Sector Organisations (TSOs) in STEM-related outreach work. They are interested in any projects which include an HEI and a TSO in their delivery. (Projects may include schools and colleges but we are not seeking information on projects that ONLY include either an HEI or a TSO working with schools and colleges – projects must include both an HEI and a TSO).

The aim of the call is to enable London Higher to reflect as fully as possible all work being undertaken nationally in this area and will result in selected activities featuring as case studies in the report which will be launched at their national conference on 3 July 2012 (http://AccesstoHESTEMConferenceJuly2012.eventbrite.com).

If you are involved in such activity please could you provide information by close of play 25 May 2012 clicking here: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/SF2LGMT .

Background information

The South West region of the National HE STEM Programme, in conjunction with AccessHE, is leading on a national initiative to construct a sustainable basis for enhanced partnership between higher education institutions (HEIs) and Third Sector Organisations (TSOs) in the delivery of activities to enable progression to HE for learners from groups presently under-represented in HE. [AccessHE is the new Division of London Higher (the umbrella organisation for HEIs in London) that aims to support the progression to HE of learners from groups in London presently under-represented in HE.] This initiative will aim to build this sustainable base by initiating a ‘Community of Practice’ that brings together HEIs and TSOs in dialogue, scopes and collates good practice in partnership work between the sectors and supports the development of replicable delivery models in Third Sector: HEI progression to HE activity.
