‘Researching the Engaged University’: Recruitment of a Research Associate
- Date:
- 14 February 2012
The last twenty years have seen a significant growth in university public engagement, community engagement and related activities that seek to reframe the relationship between universities and the public through research, teaching and institutional change.
The NCCPE has been funded by the AHRC to lead a project to bring together the researchers and practitioners working across the UK and in different disciplines in this area to develop an equally vibrant interdisciplinary research culture. The specific aim of the project is to frame the key research challenges that such a research culture might seek to explore.
We are inviting tenders from researchers to join the project team, working approximately 3 days per week between March and July 2012. Tenders need to reach the NCCPE office by 5 p.m. on February 23rd, and interviews are scheduled to take place on the 29th February in Bristol.
The purpose of the role is to work with the Principal Investigator, Professor Keri Facer, to provide a thorough overview of the field of public engagement, including the views of lead practitioners and researchers and the current research base in the field.
Key tasks will include:
- Researching library databases, reports, media and the web.
- Conducting telephone interviews.
- Analysis and report writing.
