This is a modified ‘Open Space’ event rooted in our on-going action research programme, to explore the tensions and opportunities for public engagement in Britain’s higher education sector.

The day will bring together participants in the NCCPE's action research programme - drawn from over 30 universities and from a wide range of roles (e.g. academia, management, students), together with others with a stake or interest in university engagement. No prior involvement in the NCCPE or the Beacons for Public Engagement is required - though an enthusiasm to share your views is requested!

The day will provide a rare opportunity to network, reflect, and contribute to future agendas for change in higher education.  We will start with some of the key themes emergent in the action research so far, including - but not limited to - issues of: reward and recognition, equity, the use of physical space, managerialism, and measuring impact. There will be opportunity to contribute to these debates, as well as work with others in defining new territory. There will also be opportunity to contribute to the NCCPE's specialist toolkit, to support the coordination and management of engagement within the HE sector.

For further information, please contact the NCCPE’s Learning and Research Manager, Heather Squires.
