8 September 2010 - 10:30am - 1:00pm

We would like to invite you to attend a deliberative workshop we are holding as part of the vinspired students research project, 'Students, Volunteering and the Community'. On this wide-ranging project The Institute for Volunteering Research (IVR) has worked with teams of peer-researchers in six case study universities: University of West of England, University of East London, Keele University, University of Gloucestershire, University of Leeds and Oxford University.

The research explores the motivations for, routes into, experience and perceived value of volunteering among students. It also considers the capacity for involving student volunteers within volunteer-involving organisations, and the difference that it makes to them.

We are holding a workshop on Wednesday 8 September 2010, 10.30-1pm, Room 1 NCVO building, Regent's Wharf, Kings Cross, London to present findings and seek feedback on the final report / research bulletins and future dissemination of both methodology and findings.

We are delighted that John Rushforth, Deputy Vice Chancellor at UWE will open the workshop. There will be approximately 50 key stakeholders in attendance including senior leaders in Higher Education, workers in student volunteering, academics/researchers with an interest in the topic as well as student volunteers.

If you are able to attend this event please respond to Jennifer Russell at IVR at Jennifer.russell@volunteeringengland.org by Friday 30 July.
