Why we've signed the Manifesto

"The University of Huddersfield’s vision is to be an inspiring, innovative university of international renown and as such we are deeply committed to ensuring that our research and our highly skilled researchers have every opportunity to exploit their knowledge in collaboration and full partnership with the public. We believe that research programmes designed and delivered in consultation with research users provide the maximum benefit toward economic, social and cultural development and have the greatest chance of producing solutions to global grand challenges facing humanity such as sustainable energy, lifelong health and wellbeing and living with environmental change. Public engagement is therefore central to the University’s mission and is embedded in our strategic priorities.

The University of Huddersfield is privileged to be an early signatory of the Manifesto for Public Engagement and pledges to support and participate in the admirable endeavours of the National Co-ordinating Centre for Public Engagement."

Our approach to public engagement

How to apply to University of Huddersfield in UK | Study Abroad Life

The University of Huddersfield’s approach to public engagement embraces the principles set out in the Concordat for Engaging the Public with Research: a strategic commitment; reward, recognition and training through dedicated funding schemes to empower our academic staff and postgraduate researchers, and mechanisms to review and evaluate our processes and achievements. We also hold an annual Research Festival to engage as many audiences with our research as possible.
