What motivated you to engage the public with your work?
I want to communicate exciting scientific research that mathematicians and other scientists are engaged with - both to increase popular support, and to enthuse potential researchers across disciplines.
Describe the public engagement activity you have done.
Excitingly, my appointment as a NOISEmaker put me in touch with the media relations officer at my university, which resulted in coverage on the Manchester University website. This led to me being noticed by the BBC and being chosen to appear on The One Show. My experience with NOISE has also given me the opportunity to get involved in an EPSRC Public Engagement Project.
