Biography
I am Assistant Dean and Head of the School of the Performance and Literature at Swansea Metropolitan University.
What motivated you to engage the public with your work?
I want to embed public engagement in my own university and I also wish to develop the links in public engagement across Wales - to share good practice across both universities and communities within Wales and across the UK.
I think we need to encourage as wide a range of Ambassadors within universities and within public organisations - it should not just be HEIs that have Ambassadors.
Describe the public engagement work you have done
As a recipient of a Beacons for Wales award I have developed specific projects working with the community and particularly Barnardo's Cymru in creating strong links with our Swansea University and the Third sector. I am also working to develop public engagement at Swansea University, encouraging University management and senior staff to recognise the value of this work.
