In 2012, I was appointed as National Centre Manager of the EPSRC Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Intelligent Automation, for which over 50% of my role is dedicated to outreach work, including engaging young people with engineering.
I was awarded a PhD in Microbiology in 1994 and an EPSRC Advanced Fellowship in 2002. I have been appointed as a Senior Lecturer in Medical Engineering at the iMBE at the University of Leeds.
I’m a Chemical Engineer with an interest in fermentation and foam separation. I completed my PhD at The University of Manchester in 2011 and am now a Research Associate in the Multiphase Processing Group. My research is focused on trying to find new and more efficient ways to produce biosurfactants.
