Advice
We are keen to support HEI staff and students to develop their public engagement work. Whether you are trying to inspire your institution to support public engagement, or want help to develop a specific activity we hope we can help.
Here are some of the ways you can get involved in our work.
Events
We run an active events programme, including a national conference; skills sharing events and networking events. in 2010 we will be running workshops to support HEI staff and students embed engagement into their institutions practice.
Contact us if you would like to partner us in an event, or participate in an event you have planned.
Resources
Our website is packed full of resources to help support you in your work.
How to support it contains resources based on learning from the Beacons for Public Engagement, and the vinspired students project. From inspiring stories of change, to practical ideas about how you might manage your own change process, these resources will grow and develop over time.
How to do it is a toolkit for anyone wanting to engage the public with their work. We are constantly adding new resources to this section, and actively encourage you to contribute content, or amendments to existing content.
Why does it matter lays out the case for HEI public engagement. In addition you can find our Manifesto for Public Engagement - an opportunity for HEI leaders to show their commitment to this agenda. People who sign up to the Manifesto can access additional support from the NCCPE to develop their work.
Networking
We are keen to support people to network with others with differing experiences in order to share learning, and build new partnerships. In addition to our events programme we have:
The Public Engagement Ambassadors: A scheme to support people to act as catalysts for change within their own organisation; develop their engagement skills and network with others.
The Public Engagement Network: This Jiscmail list is an opportunity for you to share your comments and questions with other list member. We are actively recruiting participants in this list which has only recently been launched. Why not be one of the first to get some discussion going?
